About Changing Patterns
Have you ever found yourself stuck in repetitious, unfulfilling behavior? You want to change, and you're just not sure how?
Changing Patterns, PC, was founded to help people create lasting, meaningful change in their lives. Bonnie Artman, founder and therapist, offers tools that help individuals, couples, and families build relationships of substance and live life without regrets.
Respect. Growth. Hope.
These define the essence of Changing Patterns, PC. By addressing unresolved hurts and misunderstandings:
- Self-respect emerges from discouragement
- Growth comes from pain
- Sadness transforms to hope
Our Philosophy
Changing Patterns, PC works from a strengths perspective. This means focus is placed on your current abilities – the areas that are working in your life – and building on them. In addition, we look at your family dynamics, believing that our upbringing influences the beliefs we have about ourselves and how we work through difficulties life poses to us. This is not to blame parents; rather, to understand what was modeled to us and to decide what things we may want to hold onto that shaped who we are today, and what things we may want to do differently to create our own legacy.
Lastly, Changing Patterns focuses on personal responsibility. You have probably heard it said, “We can’t change others, we can only change ourselves.” Research has shown that, more than genetics, our upbringing greatly influences who we become; however, we don’t need to stay there. Taking personal responsibility empowers us to make wise choices and create a better future.
