Managing Depression and Anxiety Workshop Topics

Setting Boundaries

Do you have trouble saying no? Do you tend to overextend yourself and then resent “all” you have to do? Do you have difficulty allowing others to be responsible for their own lives? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may have difficulty setting boundaries. Boundaries are limits that help us manage our lives and minimize anxiety, fatigue, and emotional outbursts. This workshop is geared toward those who lead busy lives and want to learn ways to better care for themselves while still being productive.

During this workshop you will learn to:

  • Identify boundaries and how to implement
  • Identify the barriers that keep you from implementing boundaries
  • Differentiate between dependent and interdependent relationships

Managing Your Mood

How we talk to ourselves (self-talk) can influence our attitude and how we respond to the circumstances of life. Brain research offers us relevant information about how we process events presented to us. Sometimes we may logically process an event and other times a similar event may trigger a more extreme reaction that impairs our functioning and negatively affects relationships.

This workshop explains the brain research in an understandable manner and how to respond rather than react to upsetting situations. Whether you struggle with anger outbursts, depression or anxiety, this workshop will help you learn to manage your mood.

During this workshop you will learn to:

  • Identify core beliefs that contribute to negative self-talk
  • Trade harsh, critical self-talk for kind, nurturing self-affirmation
  • Develop tools to stabilize mood and minimize depressive or anxious symptoms
  • Challenge unhealthy thinking patterns that are destructive in your relationships
